THE BATTLEFIELD’S A CLEANER PLACE THAN MILLI-COM WILL EVER BE. Nu-Earth: a whole world lost to the endless war between Nort and Souther forces, its atmosphere poisoned, its landscape pulverised. Searching this wasted planet is the Rogue Trooper, last survivor of the Genetic Infantry, accompanied only by the bio-chipped “ghosts” of his comrades on his quest for the traitor who betrayed them. Three years after the massacre that destroyed his unit, Rogue finds himself embroiled in a conspiracy that reaches to the topmost levels of Souther high command. On Milli-Com, the South’s orbiting control centre, an attempt to revive the Genetic Infantry program has gone badly wrong – and left Rogue’s fellow GI Gunnar at the mercy of a madman. In the classic You Only Die Twice, series creator Gerry Finley-Day and artist Cam Kennedy set GI against GI, as Gunnar embarks on an assassination run- under orders he cannot disobey. When A GI Dies, by Garth Ennis (Preacher, The Boys) and Patrick Goddard (Judge Dredd, Nina Petrova and the Angels of Death), sees Rogue investigating the fallout of Gunnar’s deadly mission- and uncovering something infinitely more terrible, as the graves of the lost GI Regiment are violated in the most unspeakable way. There is a price to be paid for bringing back the dead, even on electronic bio-chips. There are secrets Milli-Com does not want known, that only the Dolls – the female GIs never committed to combat – can help Rogue uncover. And there are ghosts haunting the lifeless plains of the Quartz Zone, where the Genetic Infantry Regiment died- and the story of Rogue Trooper was born in tragedy and blood.
